We've been in the music industry for many years, J Wills has been singing since Moses was a little boy and me over 30 years from writer then....to engineer/producer now. The last commercial studio I worked at was, Lion studios Inc in Brixton, which is a tale for another day, but when it closed I set up at home where I could be more selective about the work I did to pay the bills and focus more on expressing myself musically. The one thing I really missed from my time at Lion studios was the singers I had the privilege to work with, artists i grew up listening to and buying their records would walk through the doors on a daily basis from Fred locks to Michael Prophet, or twinkle brothers and  max Romeo, the list is endless. I needed a singer to turn my music into song's. I met J Wills through a friend of a friend, he had just finished a garage project and was up for a new challenge.

It didn't take that long to get into a groove and the songs began to turn Into an album....which could never come out because these songs were like our children, and they all couldn't be on 1 album, so the songs kept on coming. Fast forward to Covid, everything's locked down, no live music, all entertainment online, nothing positive being said.....we decided to release our music through a distributor to all the music online retailers we could and so GHETTO BORN BUT RAISED records was started. 

We've never made music just to make money but any money raised from selling our music would help us to continue doing what we love to do, make music... but every online music retailer is a streaming platform that has no interest in selling our music, instead they lease you our music monthly and pay us fractions of a penny's per stream. It's become Impossible for us to feed a beast who has his boot on our throats and we don't rent or lease our music...we make it so you can own it and make it apart of your Collection to play when and where you want to and even share with friends and family when you want to, which is why we set up our website for us to sell our songs as downloads, direct to you so we can connect with our friends and allow them to get Free downloads and exclusive versions of some of the songs they may already know and to hear the newest that they don't.
